## OSSign free code signing for open source projects

**What you get.** Free trusted code signing of release executables under OSSign's certificate, wired into the project's build pipeline; signatures are trusted by major operating systems. EV certificates and attestation signing are available for select projects on request.

**Who qualifies.** Applies to the project; OSI-approved license required; project at least 6 month(s) old; active development required. The majority of the code must be under an OSI-approved license with all release code publicly reviewable; at least 6 months of activity on the account, organization and project (forks included); a public build pipeline that verifiably links each release binary to its source and runs code quality checks. Commercial projects with an open source license are considered case by case. Tools with a political or controversial purpose, including offensive security tooling, are not signed.

**How to apply.** Register the project through the application form on ossign.org. As of September 2026 the site says new applications are suspended while a backlog is processed and asks applicants to check back in a few weeks.
